I’ve been discussing water bill costs on with my friends on Facebook. How much is your water bill on average?
I hate to tell you that our last bill was just under $50 – for two months, including sewer charge. BUT, we are two retired 70+-year-olds; I wash 2-3 loads of laundry a week and run the dishwasher every 2-3 days. Also, since we go to the Y nearly every day, lots of showers happen there.
A lot of my showering is done at the Y or at the yoga studio as well, that’s 4-5 showers a week right there.
I’ve watched it vary over the years, but the last couple have been $60-$70. That’s with four people.
I lowered it by stopping the “pipe insurance,” which I never needed and already had paid out more than a plumber would cost me. I have been receiving ads to buy pipe insurance ever since.
$0. We have a well. We pay about $350 a year for municipal septic,a nod maintain our RO system for drinking water, which is under $150 a year.
We’re on city water. The current bill is $20.12 for the water usage portion. (It also includes sewer, recycling, and trash pick up.) There’s just the two of us. We do a lot of laundry and do *not* have a water-efficient washing machine. Hubby does workouts at his place of employment before he comes home at night and showers there. We also were finally able to get our leaky kitchen faucet repaired about a month ago.
At our Arizona house, when it is occupied, the water runs approximately $25-30 a month. Sewer and trash pickup are billed separately and (this really boils our blood) the sewer is not connected to actual water usage. It is the same price for all households, regardless of 1 person or 50 people using it. Our MONTHLY sewer bill there is $52.61 a month, and they do *not* allow us to put it on vacation hold when the house is vacant.
