I almost always find the couple something unique (off-register) that I think they will like.
Registry, for sure. We got some crazy stuff off-registry. When you need so much, why risk it?
We go by the registry.
Though I love getting “unique” gifts, lately I have opted for registry gifts. It’s easier and the store handles delivery.
For people I barely know, I use the registry. For my besties, I get something I know they will need but forget they will need it.
