Wednesday Wisdom

I only had two wisdom teeth and they were pulled when I was about 19. They were impacted and I was having twilight sleep. I was nervous and passed out in the waiting room filling out paperwork.

Do you have your wisdom teeth?

I always knew there was something wrong about my wisdom teeth. I had asked my dentist, and he showed me x-rays; they still had not erupted when I finished college. I used to yawn and get my jaw stuck occasionally, and that same dentist told me it was because I wasn’t relaxed.

Sometime in my thirties, my jaw got stuck again and I couldn’t fix it. So I went to the dental ER, where they put me on antibiotics before removing the partially erupted molars… My jaw never got stuck again. TMI?

Had mine extracted when I was in HS and college. No problems with either procedure.

  3. Lindy says:

Nope. Had all four removed under general anesthesia by an oral surgeon when I was about 25 years old.

I can’t remember when mine were removed, but I remember being terrified and then surprised when it hurt so little.

I had 3 in by the time I was 15. They took them out before I went abroad for a year at 17 because my mouth is too small and the dentist didn’t want me to have problems while I was in a 3rd world country. I was awake, and it was kind of a non-event.
