This is the Weekend Q&A game and this is how you play:
The person before you has asked asked you a question. You’ll answer their question in the comments as well as ask the next person a question. The next person answers their question, and asks another, etc….. You are encouraged to participate often!
I’ll start:
What time is it?

9 a.m. I am railing about the weather.
So, how is your weather today?
It’s snowing big, giant, wet, beautiful snowflakes while the sun is shining.
I got a physical yesterday. When was your last full wellness physical?
About a year ago. I’m due.
How often do you see your dentist each year? (3 for me)
Twice a year – just for cleaning – and just did that last Tuesday.
What kind of bread do you regularly have on hand? (We mostly just have rye bread.)
whole wheat bread.
iphone, landline, Android? What’s best?
Rotary Dial.
What do you really think of this weather?
It’s too cold outside.
What was the last restaurant you went out to eat at?
Logan’s Roadhouse.
What’s the worst employment you’ve ever had and how did you cope with it?
An attorney. I worked part time and was asked to come in and supervise when he was going to be in court–and report to him which other secretary talked about anything other than work while he was gone. I refused, quit, and haven’t seen him since. It was my day of liberation.
How old were you when you went to your first funeral?
I’m answering this question in amazement; I believe I was thirty-seven before I actually went to a funeral.
My parents didn’t believe in bringing kids to funerals, and — happily — the only person who died after I got older had a private funeral ad we couldn’t go anyhow.
New question, new subject: Did you watch any episode “Smash,” the new musical on tv? Did you like it?
My grandparents took me to a funeral when I was FIVE. I didn’t know the woman who died. I still get nauseous when I smell gardenias, because the casket had a blanket of gardenias on it.
I was 4 yrs old – didn’t have a choice. My day-old baby sister passed away very unexpectedly. I remember seeing her tiny body in the casket at the funeral home and then attending the burial in the freezing rain at the grave site, standing with my dad, aunts and uncles.
No, I have not seen Smash but I will look into it.
How far do you have to drive to get to work?
14 miles, which takes about 30 minutes on side streets.
I just weeded through my google reader feed and eliminated a bunch of blogs I once must have thought were interesting, but now just pass over. When was the last time you cleaned out your feed reader?
I clean mine out every few months, or when all of a sudden it’s seems so full that it’s overwhelming.
Would you describe yourself as shy?
I have been shy all my life — must have been a sin, because my mother constantly scolded me about it. Throughout my adult life, I have made the attempt not to seem shy because I needed to talk to people — including clients.
So tell me: are you simply shy, or are you secretly shy?
not especially shy, although I can be extremely solitary.
Where would you live, if you could live anywhere, and why?
I’d live on Martha’s Vineyard in the summer and run a bed & breakfast with my husband. In the winter we’d live in St. Maarten. We’ve vacationed on both islands and loved them!
When you are sick, who takes care of you?
