  1. l'empress says:

Not at all! I spent a lot of years looking younger than I was, and most of the time that’s a real pain. It would be worse pain to feel this old and have it my own little secret!

  2. Bev says:

Heck no. I don’t FEEL young. I might as well look my age.

I am in sunny California and my daughter is expecting up to 24″ of snow in Boston. Have you ever been in a blizzard?

    • Lindy says:

Yes, I have – in northwest Indiana in 1967 and 1978, and while driving through Alabama, on the way home from Florida, hubby and I were snowed in at Birmingham for 3 days in 1993. The main drawback to the Alabama blizzard was that they had *no* snow removal equipment.

Just a week ago Thursday we were caught in white out conditions driving to northern Indiana. That same afternoon, down in the Indy area, 43 vehicles were involved in a chain reaction crash because of the same storm, 23 of the vehicles being semi-trucks. One person died.

      • maryz says:

Lindy, that’s the same blizzard we had in ’93. It was 13 March (just before my birthday). We don’t think winter is officially over around here until then. 8^)

  3. maryz says:

No for me, too – I’ve earned every one of these wrinkles and grey hair, so I might as well flaunt them!

In 1993, we survived the “Blizzard of ’93″ – 20″ of snow in 24 hours – pretty wild for this part of the world. But it really was a bad one. Fortunately that doesn’t usually happen in our part of the world.

What are your plans for the weekend?

  4. Jennifer says:

Heading to Wisconsin Dells with my in-laws.

    Do you send/give Valentines?

  5. l'empress says:

I send Valentine cards to my granddaughters, just to make sure they understand what mail is, and to remind them that I’m thinking of them even though I can’t come to visit.

When I was in college, we described the weather as autumn and spring monsoons, separated by a couple of months of blizzards. (Something in the rock formations around the campus seemed to funnel all the weather to us.) If you had to choose, would you prefer the blizzards or the monsoons?

  6. Indigo says:

    I guess a blizzard, I don’t have any experience with a monsoon.

I’m reading (almost finished) Touch & Go, by Lisa Gardner, what are you reading?

  7. Although I have about 6 half-read books, I’m actually looking for my next great attention-grabber. I received a Kindle for Christmas, so I am starting to load it with prospective reads.

Do you love or hate the winter weather … and why?

  8. Jennifer says:

Neither. I live in Wisconsin where it is a fact of life. I enjoy snow and the things we can do in it, but not “winter” itself.

I don’t really enjoy waterparks, even though I am forced to be at one all weekend. Do you like them?

  9. Indigo says:

Not a huge fan personally, but my daughter loves them so I will choose a hotel with one if I have the option.

Have you ever had to testify in a courtroom?
