I read this post on BlogHer, How I Deleted My Facebook Account and Walked Away from 555 Friends. I must admit, I think about deleting my Facebook account often. Sometimes it seems like it’s a huge invasion of my privacy, other times I really enjoy it for what it is — an easy way to keep in contact with my friends and family.
Would you ever delete your Facebook account? Has the thought every crossed your mind?

I would not be running away from 500 friends because I don’t accept every friend request that turns up. I don’t go onto the site that often, because I dislike so many things about it. But in an emergency it has been the only place I could get in touch with people.
So, no, I wouldn’t close it down…yet.
I don’t know that I’d ever shut it down. I might just start ignoring it. Like l’empress, I don’t accept every request that shows up. It’s mainly a way to keep up with my grandkids. I rarely post anything on my page, and only look at my own page.
I usually don’t post anything on Facebook that I wouldnl’t post to my journal, so I haven’t felt threatened by an invasion of privacy. If I no longer enjoyed it, I would just not log on, but I can’t see closing it down.
(In fact, my son tried closing his account and found out it was almost impossible to do!)
Yes, I have thought about it but I don’t really want to lose contact with the majority of them because it’s the only place they post their photos.
Nope. I have accepted hardly any friends. And I got involved with a mom’s group when my son was a baby. We have a secret group that I’d desperately miss if I left.
I am on Facebook all the time. I would never delete it but I would ignore it for awhile to take a break.
I am not a big fan of Facebook. The thought of deleting my account in not a bad idea.
