Carpet- fewer bits to clean out
How do you skin your knee on a carpet? Ouch. (choose carpet though, softer landing, one would hope)

I can tell you how I did it. I was racing my husband down a very long carpeted hallway while wearing flip flops. I tripped over them came skidding to a stop. The carpet burn on both of my knees was awful.

I have done all three in my youth. It happen at the country club. alcohol was involved. The rug was the best.
